ABOUT US AND OUR COMMERCIAL GLASS COMPANY

In 1958 Bob Shilling and John Day opened D & S Glass and focused their attention on windshield installation and glass repair. Don Smith took over ownership of the company in 1968, until the current owner of our company, Mike LaTone, purchased the business in 1991. Mike had previously managed the Glass & Paint Center, a division of Falconer Glass Industries, on E. Second Street for 21 years.

The business originally operated out of Steele Street in the Jamestown Awning building. In 1974, we relocated to Fluvanna Avenue to the building currently occupied by DFT Communications and we subsequently moved across the street to our current location.

In 1994, we purchased the assets of the commercial glass division of Falconer Glass Industries. With this purchase, the company entered into the construction market for commercial aluminum, glass, and glazing. Along with this purchase, we also added a 10,000-square-foot addition to our building to meet the demands of the construction market.

We have worked with local companies and organizations that include Lutheran Social Services, G.A. Family Services, Shults Resale, Southwestern Central School District, Hamot Heart Institute, University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, JCC-Olean Campus, Jamestown High School, and more.

Let us get to work on your next glass project today; we look forward to hearing from you.
